Security Consulting Services

In order to determine what a client needs to provide a safe environment, Security & Safety Services of British Columbia conducts a Threat and Risk Assessment. The goal of the assessment includes:

  • Identifying potential threats to the client, general public, tenants and employees—including, but not limited to, criminal activity, vandalism, bylaw infractions;
  • Gauging the potential adverse impact resulting from such threats;
  • Determining the likelihood that problems will occur; and
  • Developing protocols to limit the impact of threats and minimize damages.

The analysis includes taking the following characteristics and risk factors into consideration:

Property Characteristics:

  • Site Logistics;
  • Property History;
  • Strengths and Weaknesses of Current Security Program

Risk Factors:

  • Harm to persons;
  • Damage to property;
  • Increased liability due to negligence; and
  • Loss of business income and reputation—for the owners, tenants

The analysis allowed us to establish five Security Level categories:

  1. Low
  2. Moderate
  3. Elevated
  4. High
  5. Extreme

These Security Levels allow us to deliver a robust Security Program that:

  • Plans for worst-case scenarios but is flexible enough to deal with ordinary incidents and criminal issues (e.g. theft from auto, graffiti);
  • Improves the client’s overall security while balancing the privacy rights and civil liberties of the general public; and
  • Ensures a safe environment for tenants and the general public.
