Red Cross Wilderness First Aid (formerly referred to as Advanced Wilderness First Aid) is a 40 hour course that will prepare you to take the lead in medical emergencies where resources are scarce, and rescue might take 24-48 hours. We will focus on basic principles and effective techniques, and guide your through informed decision-making. This is the ultimate course for the avid adventurer/camper or guide.

 

Pre-requisite: None - there are no training or certification prerequisites for this course.

Course Length: 40 hours

We supply all first aid gear and other necessary learning materials for the course. On the first day of class you will  get a copy of the Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid Field Guide to use during the course.  If you would like to purchase your own copy, the cost of the field guide is $42.50 Tax applicable. After a successful completion of the course earns you an Red Cross Wilderness First Aid with CPR C certificate from the Canadian Red Cross, valid for 3 years.

Course Schedule:

    Day 1: 8:30- 6:30pm

    Day 2: 8:30- 6:30pm

    Day 3: 2pm- midnight (night time scenario)

    Day 4: 10- 6pm

**Frequent breaks and lunch are taken throughout the day

Recertification: 16 hours / 2 days; you must hold an unexpired 40 hour certificate to recertify.
