This basic Occupational First Aid Level 1 course is designed for industry that is located in close proximity to hospitals (less than 20 min.) Skills include; Scene Assessment, Primary Survey, Wound Assessment and Treatment, Airway Obstructions, C.P.R., using and A.E.D., as well as medical conditions and regulatory requirements by WorkSafeBC. Upon successful completion of a written examination, candidates will be certified for 3 years.


 

 

Pre-requisite: None

Course Length: 8 hours

Certification: 3 years

Course Hours:
• 8:15 am start time (8:30 am after paperwork)
• 30 minutes for lunch
• 5 pm end time
There will also be a mid-morning and mid-afternoon break as well.

Course Requirements:

  • Candidates must be 16 years of age to be certified
  • In good health and physical condition
  • Provide valid photo ID to the Evaluator prior to examinations
  • Students must prepay to secure a seat
  • All class hours are mandatory

Refund & Cancellation:

  • All course fees must be paid in full upon registration.

  • Full refunds for cancellations 30+ days before the course start date.

  • Credits for future use for cancellations made within 30 days of the start date, valid for 12 months and transferable to another student.

Canadian Safety & Medic Training may reschedule or cancel courses due to low enrollment or logistical issues, making every effort to inform enrollees beforehand. If a course is canceled, students can choose an alternate date or a full refund.

After you successfully complete the examinations, you can work as a designated workplace first aider for job sites within 20 minutes of a hospital.
