The ideal candidate has stellar clinical judgment, remains completely calm under extreme stress, and maintains strict adherence to local provincial paramedic licensing regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide rapid, high-quality pre-hospital emergency medical care, physical stabilization, and treatment to injured site personnel.
• Perform comprehensive initial patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and administer basic life support (BLS) interventions.
• Maintain, inventory, and inspect all emergency medical equipment, trauma jump kits, oxygen systems, and MTC (Medical Treatment Centre) supplies.
• Manage patient immobilization, spinal clearance protocols, and rapid packaging for emergency medical transport or ambulance hand-off.
• Complete detailed, highly accurate Patient Care Reports (PCRs), incident logs, and workplace injury documentation to comply with occupational health safety (OHS) laws.
• Deliver proactive safety support by conducting site hazard assessments, wellness checks, and participating in daily safety tool-box meetings.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Current, valid provincial Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) license (e.g., EMA Licensing Board in BC, Alberta College of Paramedics, etc.).
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Level HCP certification.
• A valid class 4 or class 5 driver's licence with a clean commercial driving record (Class 4 preferred for driving mobile treatment centres).
• Clear criminal record check and vulnerability sector screening.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and patient-advocacy skills under dynamic conditions.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy patients, medical stretchers, and trauma equipment over rough terrain.
• Previous experience as an industrial field medic, oilfield standby medic, or fire rescue service member is a strong asset.
