What time does the course start/End?
We ask all participants to arrive at 8:15 am to complete paperwork, so we can start promptly at 8:30 am. The course will end at approximately 5:00 pm
What first aid courses does Turner Group offer?
Turner Group offers a range of Canadian Red Cross first aid and CPR courses, including Basic/Emergency First Aid, Intermediate/Standard First Aid, CPR/AED, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced First Aid, and Wilderness & Remote First Aid. Course availability may vary throughout the year.
Are you a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner?
Yes. Turner Group is a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner. Our Red Cross courses follow the applicable Canadian Red Cross curriculum and certification requirements.
Which first aid course do I need for work?
The correct course depends on your employer, workplace requirements, and the level of first aid coverage required at your workplace. In British Columbia, employers are responsible for ensuring workplace first aid attendants have the appropriate certification recognized by WorkSafeBC. If you are unsure which course you need, contact us and we can help you determine the appropriate training
What is the difference between Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced First Aid?
In British Columbia, workplace first aid training is generally divided into Basic First Aid, Intermediate First Aid, and Advanced First Aid. Basic First Aid – generally a one-day course. Intermediate First Aid – generally a two-day course. Advanced First Aid – generally a ten-day course. The level required depends on the workplace and its first aid assessment.
How long is a Canadian Red Cross first aid certification valid?
Most Canadian Red Cross first aid and CPR certifications are valid for three years. Basic Life Support (BLS) is an exception and has a one-year certification period
Is OFA 1 still called OFA 1?
The names of B.C. workplace first aid certificates changed on November 1, 2024. The current terminology is Basic First Aid, Intermediate First Aid, and Advanced First Aid. Older OFA 1, OFA 2, and OFA 3 certificates remain valid until their expiry dates and correspond to the new levels
